“I’m from Slovakia, I’ve been here four years; two years in Scotland and two years in London. I drove buses and other vehicles in Slovakia. I started working for Metroline as a bus driver in September 2007.

I’m using the Learning Bus to improve my English, speaking and writing - I need it for the job. I’m doing it in my own time, around my shifts, sometimes in a group, mostly one to one. They are good people here, my teacher and colleagues, the relationships are very good.

It’s made a big difference in my job; many people ask me questions, where are you going? When are you leaving? Now I am able to answer. Before they didn’t understand me, I didn’t understand them, now it’s much better. It’s helped in my personal life as well, doing shopping, talking to my landlord, I need English for this too.

I’d like to say thank you to the people who arranged this course. I’ve been in England four years, I tried a few times to do something like this, there wasn’t an opportunity before.”
